The Solution

Our proposed idea to lower the incidence of AIDS is using education programs to help educate the people of Botswana understand the risks of HIV and unprotected sex. We can innovate the education camps by promoting interactive exercises and showing the women how to apply condoms and explaining to them why they should implement this procedure.

Another way we can prevent HIV is through the use of flashlights and cameras. We can formulate a flashlight that is charged using solar power during the day to keep the flashlight powered at night, where rape has the highest period of occurrence. There will be special buttons on the flashlight that will be able to allow victims to take a picture of their attacker, which can then be reported to the police.

Victims can then upload or view the photo of the perpetrator and can alert others of the perpetrator so he or she can be apprehended to stop spreading diseases if they have HIV. We can teach the people to download an app that will keep the community socially connected, by not only keep the entire community of Botswana linked, but will be a gathering of information of the attackers that will be shared and documented. The flashlight can be connected to the phone through a cable that will upload the photos onto the phone, and the users can upload the photo if they choose to, which will then in turn be uploaded onto the app, and any others who have the app downloaded can also keep track or report perpetrators.
